Fish in yellow-zone Mists for solid non-lethal fishing income. PvP is knockdown-only, so the zone is beginner-safe, but serious silver needs Fishing 60+, T7 fisherman gear, a T7 Avalonian rod, bait, and Grandmaster journals. Reviewed against a logged 30-min run (no Premium): 1,171 chopped fish and 5,580/6,640 Grandmaster journal fill (~386k chopped fish gross in 30 min at ~330/chop). Snapper stays RNG upside.
Yellow-zone Mists are knockdown-only and safe to learn in, but the logged calculator tier is Fishing 60+ with T7 fisherman gear, T7 Avalonian rod, bait, and Grandmaster journals: 761.9k/hr at saved Martlock prices (Standard tax, no Premium). Fishing 10-30 models about 358.1k/hr before that setup. Snapper stays RNG upside.

Bank in your royal city before each run. There is no normal bank inside the Mists, so enter with empty bag space and sell after you leave.
Enter the Mists by finding a Will o' Wisp in a T5/T6 yellow zone. Wear your best gear, fisherman armor, Avalonian rod in bag, bait, and journal. Moose mount is recommended.
Fish active schools near water in your starting Mist. Use T3 Fancy Fish Bait at schools for faster bites and more casts per hour.
When the exit timer reaches around 5:00, start scouting for higher-rarity nested Wisps instead of squeezing one more fishing school.
Prioritize Rare, Epic, and Legendary nested Mists when scouting. T7 fishing zones show up most often in Epic and Legendary nests; Rare Mists can still roll T7 water but are less dependable.
If you only find an Uncommon Will o' Wisp, remember its location and keep searching briefly. If time is running out and no better option appears, enter the Uncommon Mist and keep fishing rather than wasting the rest of the session.
At fishing 60+, bring a Grandmaster Fisherman's Journal when you expect to fish higher-rarity Mists long enough to fill meaningful fame. Below that, treat journals as a slow bonus, not guaranteed hourly income.
After leaving the Mists, sell valuable fish raw. Butcher low-value bycatch into chopped fish only when chopped-fish value is clearly better than raw sale value.
